What is a Microsoft 365 Digital Champion? 

A Digital Champion is someone who is passionate about the use of digital technology and is willing to share this knowledge and experience with others to enhance skills, build digital confidence and promote best practice. 

As a Microsoft 365 Digital Champion, you will be helping to promote learning and best practice in the use of the digital tools and apps available within Microsoft 365. 

You don’t have to be a technical whizz to be a Digital Champion but you do need to be patient, understanding and a great communicator. You need to understand the benefits of digital technology and feel comfortable helping those who have less knowledge than you.

What does the role involve?  

The Microsoft 365 Digital Champion role is a volunteering opportunity to help enhance your own digital skills, whilst enabling you to share this learning and best practice with others.  

 As a Microsoft 365 Digital Champion your role will involve:  

• Raising awareness of the Cheshire and Merseyside Microsoft 365 Optimisation Programme.  
• Helping to recruit additional Digital Champions within your organisation and professional networks.  
• Promoting the range of apps available as part of Microsoft 365 beyond familiar tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Microsoft Teams.  
• Signposting colleagues to the online courses and learning resources available as part of the Microsoft 365 Knowledge Hub.  
• Identifying examples of Microsoft 365 best practice within your organisation so that this can be shared as case studies and blueprints.  
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to co-design solutions to known challenges. 
• Encouraging the wider adoption of new ways of working using Microsoft 365.  
• Providing feedback to help guide enhancements to the Microsoft 365 Knowledge Hub and wider programme.  

You should also: 

• Be enthusiastic about the use and benefits of digital technology in health and social care.  
• Have some knowledge of Microsoft 365 apps such as Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Microsoft Teams.
